Dr. Noor Mohammad

Dr. Noor Mohammad has taken over the responsibilities as Executive Director of PSTC since January 2015. Dr. Noor has about three decades of professional experiences in the arena of Public Health.
A known professional in the arena of Public Health, Dr. Noor initially started his career with BCS cadre (7th Batch), later he moved to development field in 1990.
Before joining PSTC as Executive Director, Dr. Noor served UCEP Bangladesh as Director Programs, where he led the Program Unit as Chief of Programs. He did also worked with UNFPA as Assistant Country Representative in Bangladesh and led two components: Gender and Population & Development.
As regards his academic background, Dr. Noor is having a PhD in Population Education and three Masters in his credits: Geography, Education and Public Health. He achieved the ‘Best Student Award’ from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH), USA for scoring the highest grade point average in MPH. He was also awarded ‘Population Leadership Award’ from the University of Washington, USA. He is a certified ‘Project and Program Management Professional’ from the University of Connecticut, USA and took advanced training in ‘Project Cycle Management’ from ITC/ILO based in Turin, Italy.
Dr. Noor Mohammad is well-known writer and other than his regular columns in different dailies, he has 11+ edited published books in credit, as well as 4+ reader-friendly research reports and 10+ published articles in peer-reviewed journals at both home and abroad. He has become the Editor for the monthly bi-lingual (Bangla and English) professional Newsletter, ‘Projanmo Kotha’ since July 2017. Teaching is one of his passions thus he has been teaching at tertiary (University) level both in public and private universities for more than a decade.
One of the leading experts on youth issues in Bangladesh and in the region, Dr. Noor Mohammad was actively involved in facilitating first-ever national Adolescent Reproductive Health Strategy for Bangladesh which was formulated through an inter-ministerial committee. Dr. Noor also provided expert consultancy support to WHO and UNICEF. His recent consultancy work was to develop National Plan of Action based on Adolescent Strategy.

Dr. Md. Mahbubul Alam has taken over the responsibilities of Head of Programs of PSTC since April 2018. Dr. Alam has more than 15 years working of experiences in the field of Public Health both at national and international level positions with different development organizations. He has experiences at the grassroots level in the field of health and community development and researches with national NGOs, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Bangladesh and also have 4-years experiences of working with Actionaid International in Afghanistan in the field of Basic Package of Health Services, Maternal, Neonatal, Child Health and Nutrition, Reproductive Health including HIV/AIDS and Right to Health.

Dr. Alam started working with PSTC in April 2015 and lead different projects and programs including HAPS, UBR, HIA and SANGJOG to March 2018 as a Team Leader with different projects- SANGJOG, UBR and HAPS. Prior to joining PSTC, he worked with ActionAid in Afghanistan as the Project Manager of “Strengthening Basic Packages of Health Services in Afghanistan” where he was responsible for managing the health activities and providing technical assistance. He also worked with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Bangladesh where he organized and conducted training courses on Reproductive Health, Gender and HIV/AIDS related issues. Dr. Alam basically a physician and he obtained MBBS degree from Mymensingh Medical College in 1997 and MPH from National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (NIPSOM), Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2004.

Dr. Sushmita Ahmed
Team Leader

Having had MBBS degree from Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dr. Sushmit Ahmed did her Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from NIPSOM. Dr. Ahmed is having more than 15 years of professional experiences in the arena of Public Health Care Services, Quality Assurance Monitoring and Supportive Supervision with Behavior Change Communication program for promotional campaigns, serving poor clients. Among the total experiences Dr. Sushmita has acquired more than seven (7) years she led the project as Project Manager and her career starts with Urban Health programs, and has been in the arena of Urban Health for more than 15 years. Dr. Sushmita has good track records of presenting in professional meetings and workshops, etc.

Susmita Parvin is a certified Finance Professional and an Associate from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountant. Having about nine years’ professional experience in the areas of Financial Management and Grants Management in international and national organizations, Ms. Parvin is familiar with International Accounting Standards (IAS), International Auditing Standards (ISA) and IFRS. The regular accomplishments during her job tenure are; preparing financial report, budget preparation for project proposal, compliance management, conducting financial monitoring to partner organizations, bank and cash management, general staff management, partner NGOs fund management, external audit facilitation, budget variance analysis, strategic financial planning, partnership agreements, GOB liaison, project management & reporting, financial evaluation of partner organizations and others. Ms. Parvin joined PSTC as Chief Finance Officer in January 2016. Before joining PSTC, she did work with ICDDR,B. She is also an Economist by degree.
